Statewide, Wallace easily won with a 53% margin of 4,080,012 to
3,369,232 votes over his Democrat oponent Jim Jordan.
In Burleson County, Wallace carried a 62% margin, 3,880 to
2,258 votes.

Michael L. Williams
from Austin, Texas was re-elected Texas Railroad Commissioner.
Statewide Michael won over Democrat challenger Mark Thompson 3,989,705
to 3,401,028.
In Burleson County, Michael received strong support with 60% of the
vote, 3,838 to 2,309.
National Offices
United States Congressman - District 10
Michael T. McCaul
from Austin, Texas easily won re-election as U.S. Congressman
for District 10.
(includes the Caldwell - Somerville area)
District wide Michael received 54% of the vote, defeating Democrat
challenger L.J. Doherty 179,118 to 143,388 votes.
In Burleson County Michael received 61% of the vote, winning by 3,097
to 1,864 votes.
for United States Congressman - District 17
Rob Curnock
from Waco, Texas could not upset long-time incumbent Democrat
Chet Edwards. (District 17 includes the Snook area)
Statewide, Rob polled 115,468 votes to Edwards 134,472.
In Burleson County, Rob lost 647 to 751 votes.
United States Senator
John Cornyn
from Austin, Texas was easily re-elected U.S. Senator.
Statewide, John recived 55% of the vote, easily winning over Democrat
challenger R. Noriega 4,326,639 to 3,383,890 votes.
In Burleson County, John received landside approval with 67% of the
vote: 4,376 to 2,003.
for President and Vice President of the United States of America
John McCain
and
Sarah Palin
found Texas and Burleson County voting for them in strong proportions.
Unfortunately, they were unable to win the Electorial College.
Statewide, 55% of Texans voted for McCain-Palin over Democrats Obama-Biden:
4,467,748 to 3,521,164 votes.
Burleson County gave McCain-Palin a landside with 68% of the vote:
4,546 to 2,053.
