Republican Party of Burleson County

It is at the County level that Republicans begin concentrating on the getting the chosen candidates elected to office.  They also screen the "resolutions" passed by the Republican Precincts and pass those which the entire County can stand behind on to the Texas State Republican Party.  Delegates are elected from among the County members to represent Burleson County Republicans at the Texas State Republican Convention.

Republican Party Officers

The Republican Party of Burleson County elects the following general officers:

Chairperson Don Cook
Vice-Chairperson Bill Giesenschlag
Secretary Caressa Inman
Treasurer Joyce Floeck
Primary Election Administrator Caressa Inman

These officers, along with the elected Republican Precinct Chairpersons, form the Republican Party of Burleson County Executive Committee.

County Republican Convention

The Republican County Convention occurs roughly a month after the Republican Primary Elections.  All are welcome to attend, but only those who voted in the Republican Primary can vote or serve as delegates to the State or National Conventions.

Republican Programs In Burleson County

Burleson County Republicans continue their efforts year-round, but are especially busy during the election periods.  Much of this effort is make sure the citizens of Burleson County are well informed and can exercise their right to influence how their Government works by electing people who feel the same way to run the Government.  Here are the major programs we work on:

  • Candidate Selection and Support
Believe it or not, there is not always a line of people trying to be candidates for public office.  We spend a lot of effort in finding qualified Republicans who are willing to go through the effort of running for public office.  We can also assist them in the mechanics of running a campaign.
  • Campaign Finance
Think about how much it would cost you just to let everyone in Burleson County know you are running for office.  If that seems expensive, think how much more expensive it is to let them know what you stand for and why you should be chosen for that office!  A major part of the Burleson County Republican Party's reason for being is to assist candidates financially.  We try to do fundraising in ways that bring the candidate and voters (with their ideas) together AND have fun at the same time!
  • Voter Registration
Republicans trust the people of Burleson County to make good decisions.  But they can't make those decisions if they don't vote.  We actively pursue getting everybody in the County registered to vote.
  • Voter Education
Modern voters need reliable information to make decisions. We are dedicated to finding and organizing the best information we can get our hands on and making it available to our candidates, party members, and the general public. This Web-Site is one of our efforts to distribute that information to all voters.
  • Voter Turnout
All of our activities don't do any good unless the people actually go to the polls and VOTE!  We encourage them to do so by making sure they know when and where to vote and know about the candidates and issues they will be voting on.  We even provide transportation and assistance to voters asking for it.

Beyond the County organization is the Texas Republican Party which is made up of delegates from all of the County organizations.

Finally the Republican National Committee is the highest organizational layer,  coordinating National issues and strategies.
