GOP Senate District 5

All Americans can participate in choosing their elected officials by simply going to the polls and voting their conscience.   However, an individual vote to an already selected slate of candidates does not give a voter much in the way of political clout!

Political Parties have formed as a way for individual voters to increase their power in controlling government by pooling their numbers and agreeing on common goals and getting candidates who share those same goals elected to office. Its more work than just going to vote, but it pays off by giving you a chance to actually influence the government!  If you are down on the influence of lobbyists and money interests on your Government, active participation in the Republican Party is your ticket to doing some serious lobbying of your own!

The Republican Party is organized to identify and assist those voters who are like minded in their views and are willing to give of their ideas, time, and even some money to make Government work their way! We are proud of our "grass-roots", individual voters who ARE interested and volunteer work or funds or both towards good government.

To accomplish these goals, the Republican Party is organized in layers:

  • Precincts are very close to the voters - we have 15 of them (one for each voting precinct) in Burleson County.

  • The Republican Party of Burleson Countyprovides the primary focal point in electing local and regional officials and is the legal entity for both Precincts and County-wide activities.

  • The Texas Republican Party organization provides the focus for state-wide activities.  Burleson County sends 17 primary and alternate delegates to the Texas Republican State Convention.

  • The Republican National Committee  centers on coordinating the national activities including efforts for Congressional Offices as well as the President of the United States.  The Texas Republican Party sends delegates to the Republican National Convention which charters and directs the RNC's efforts.
